About Judge JP Morgan

Judge Morgan was born in East Liverpool, Ohio, the son of Daniel and
Diane Morgan. He resides in Canfield with his wife Ronnie and their six
children. Judge Morgan is a graduate of Mineral Ridge High School.

Judge Morgan attended The University of Akron and obtained his Bachelor
of Science degree in Political Science-Criminal Justice in 1997. He
earned his law degree from Ohio Northern University in 2001.

Admitted to the practice of law in 2001, Judge Morgan began his practice
at the law firm of Ivanchak and Fowler in Warren, Ohio. In 2003, Morgan
started his own law firm (JP Morgan, Esquire, Ltd.) with a focus in
Domestic Relations and Criminal Law. In his 18 years, Morgan has
represented the interest of thousands of clients throughout the Mahoning

Morgan has served as a voice for hundreds of children while serving as a
Guardian Ad Litem in domestic and juvenile courts. He has served as both
acting prosecutor and public defender. In 2010 he was awarded the
northeast Ohio Attorney Volunteer of the Year for his service of
underprivileged clients in Northeast Ohio.

As a trusted member of the Bar Association, Judge Morgan has served on
the Trumbull County  (Ethics) committee, the Mahoning County Lawyer
Assistance Committee and the Mahoning County Family Law Committee. Judge
Morgan has encouraged student engagement in the legal profession by by
participating in the law week shadow program (for high school seniors)
and has judged local high school students moot court competitions.
Judge Morgan has also spoke to local high school civics classes.

Morgan has served as a youth baseball and basketball coach in the Mill
Creek Baseball League,  Heartland Christian School, upwards basketball
and Boardman community baseball league.

Mr. Morgan was an active Member of the Niles Lions Club from 2002-2010.
In 2007 he was the recipient of the Melvin A. Jones Award which is the
highest recognition from the Lions Clubs International Foundation given
to members who have rendered outstanding community services.

He also served on the Board of the Pregnancy Health Center (an agency
assisting women in unplanned pregnancies) from 2004-2016 in roles as
Secretary and Vice-President.

He currently serves on the Heartland Christian School Board, and has
served on the board since 2013. JP, Ronnie, and the Morgan children have
enjoyed being a host family for the Mahoning County Scrappers over the
past several  summers. They are members of Tabernacle Evangelical
Presbyterian Church in Austintown. Judge Morgan is a regular Sunday
school teacher at TEPC.
